Full-Time Firefighter/Paramedic - until Mar 15, 2014
Applicants must be Ohio-certified paramedics with a Level II Ohio Firefighting Certificate at the time of appointment. Students nearing completion of the certification process are encouraged to apply. Applicants must be high school graduates (or GED), demonstrate good character and health, be at least 18 years of age but no older than 35, and be physically capable of performing all essential functions of the position. Background checks will include character, mental/physical health, psychological testing and polygraph.
During the probationary period of one year, the salary is $48,256. The contract then begins at $52,667.06 with annual step increases up to $63,024.00 in 60 months. Benefits include: paid vacation, holiday, sick, and injury leaves; comprehensive healthcare insurance plan; life insurance; and City pays entire state pension premium after 5 years of service.

The written examination only will be conducted Saturday March 22, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. at Sinclair Community College, Building 20 (Automotive Lab). Doors for the exam will lock at 9:00 a.m. and no one will be allowed into the examination after that time! Valid driver’s license will be required to enter the exam. Even if you have taken the test before through the Alliance, you must take the exam on March 22nd.
The fee for the exam is $40.00 and can be paid on the National Testing Network, Inc. web-site.
Upon completion of the entry level exam, all candidate scores will be forwarded to the Moraine Merit System Commission, which will be administering the testing process. Candidates who attain a passing score on the entrance exam will be placed on the Commission’s eligibility list. The City of Moraine will contact each candidate following the exam with their overall score and ranking. National Testing Network is a service provided to conduct entry level testing in a standardized, professional environment. National Testing Network does not replace the City of Moraine Moraine and the Merit System Commission responsibility and decision making in the testing process.
Finance Director - until Feb 7, 2014
The City of Moraine, Ohio is seeking applicants for its Financial Director position. The position requires experience in government finance or public administration, to include internal control procedures, financial reporting (GAAP, GAFFR, and GASB), financial information systems, public finance and fiscal planning, salary administration, insurance, and investments. Applicants must have a degree in accounting, finance, business, public administration, or closely related field, in addition to thorough experience in accounting and finance computer software.
The City of Moraine FY2013 budget was $22.7 million and has 108 full-time and 50 part-time employees. Government structure is City Manager with seven-member Council; the Finance Director reports to the City Council. The Finance Director is also responsible for oversight of the Finance Department’s six employees.
Salary for the position is dependent on qualifications, and includes an excellent benefits package.
Summary and Purpose:Leads seven-person department in the development and maintenance of the City’s financial operations: a computerized financial and management information system, budget development and analysis, City funds investment, fixed asset system, income tax collection, home improvement loan program, the posting and the reconciliation of ledgers and accounts, payroll and accounts payable processing, and miscellaneous billings. The Finance Director is the Chief financial advisor to the City Council and City Manager. Duties are performed under general supervision of the City Council, according to established laws and accounting principles. Position is primarily sedentary, with some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light weight items (20 pounds or less) such as papers, books, and equipment.

The City of Moraine is actively looking for a staff member for the Frank Nicholas Aftercare Program. This program runs Monday – Friday, 2:45pm – 6:00pm and Thursdays from 1:00pm – 6:00pm.
Also, the City of Moraine is actively looking for a staff member for our Before School Program at Frank Nicholas. This position will work Mondays & Fridays, 6:00am – 9:00am (6 hrs. per week).
The Frank Nicholas Before School and Aftercare programs operate on the West Carrollton School’s district calendar; there will be no evenings or weekends.
Interested 18 years + candidates should be able to confidently direct a group of 25 plus children, by themselves. This is a seasonal part time position.
