Full-Time Police Cadet - from September 27, 2014 - October 15, 2014 only

A Police Cadet provides essential and critical support functions within the Moraine Police Department, Cadets are trainees who may become police officers. Applicants should be in good physical fitness, possess good moral character, be team orientated and hard working.

Applicants for the position of Police Cadet must be 18 by July 31, 2014, but no greater than 20 years of age at the time of the exam.

Full Benefits package which includes: paid insurance for medical, prescription, dental, vision and life; paid vacations, holidays and sick leave; paid college tuition and uniforms. Entry-level pay is $13.50/hour and work a 40 hour work week. There will be a twelve-month probationary period. Cadet position terminates at the age of 21.

Applications must be filled out online, they will be accepted from September 27, 2014 - October 15, 2014 only. Must include copies of your high school diploma or GED; the name, addresses, and phone numbers of 3 personal references.

After completing the City of Moraine on-line application, you are required to complete all National Testing Network ( information including the Personal History Questionnaire (PHQ). You can access the questionnaire through your candidate account.

Applications, required documentation and PHQ must be received and complete by October 15, 2014 in order to be considered for this position.

The written examination only will be conducted Saturday October 18, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. at Sinclair Community College, Building 20 (Automotive Lab). Doors for the exam will lock at 9:00 a.m. and no one will be allowed into the examination after that time! Valid driver’s license will be required to enter the exam.

The fee for the exam is $45.00 and must be paid on the National Testing Network, Inc. web-site.

Upon completion of the entry level exam, all candidate scores will be forwarded to the Moraine Merit System Commission. Candidates who attain a passing score on the entrance exam will be placed on the Commission’s eligibility list. The City of Moraine will contact each candidate following the exam with their overall score and ranking. National Testing Network is a service provided to conduct entry level testing in a standardized, professional environment. National Testing Network does not replace the City of Moraine Moraine and the Merit System Commission responsibility and decision making in the testing process.

If you have taken the exam within the past 6 months then you may transfer your scores. However, if an applicant wishes to transfer a previous test score and meets all requirements, they must complete a City application in order to be considered for this position.

Additional parts of hiring process will include: polygraph, psychological test, extensive background investigation, drug test and physical.


  • Free parking will be available at the exam location
  • Please leave all cell phones in your vehicle…no cell phones will be allowed inside the testing center
  • No food or drinks will be allowed in the testing center
  • You must bring a picture ID
  • All testing supplies, including pencils, will be provided
  • The test will be completed by 12:00 noon
