Jim McGuire
I am a 64-year-old retiree from the automotive and real estate industries. My wife Doti and I have lived in Moraine for 15 years. We celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary in April 2009. Our daughter Rachelle, son Jim, granddaughter Clare and great grandson Trenton all live in Moraine.
I attended Centerville High School and Sinclair Community College. I served as President of the Kettering Optimists and on Dayton's Eastwood Lake Racing Committee. In addition, I founded and acted as General Manager for one of the Dayton area's most successful real estate companies, and founded and directed the Dayton Children's Christmas Parade.
I have always gone to bat for the citizens of Moraine and will continue to do so. For instance, I headed the group whose petitions were instrumental in retaining the 45418 Zip Code in the City of Moraine. I have served on Moraine's Board of Zoning Appeals for 10 terms, 8 of which I was Chairman. Many of our decisions were difficult, but they were always fair and in compliance with the law.
I want to emphasize that I care passionately about our City. I support City Staff and will continue to work for the citizens of Moraine. I have strong negotiating skills gained during my sales and marketing career. My years on the BZA and frequent attendance at Council meetings have given me excellent insight as to how the City operates.
Because I'm retired, I have the time to do the job right, and am readily available to you. I promise to work long and hard to protect the interest of our residents and help the City of Moraine flourish.
