Day Camps

The NEW Day Camp Program is...

  • Fun & enrichment based!
  • Not just your average day camp/day care! Instructors & guest speakers will work with children to facilitate the week’s camp theme.
  • Themed, with a purpose-driven curriculum.
  • The camp kids want to attend! Each week, campers will take a field trip to a local destination.
  • Full of daily outdoor recreation and fun projects!
  • Offered at Payne Recreation Center & Gerhardt Civic Center

* Due to the popularity of our Day Camp Program, please have your enrollment packet complete when you arrive for registration. Also, registration at the location the camp will be held at, this must be done in person. All camp weekly deposits are due at the time of registration.

  • To receive the resident rate, you and your child must be City of Moraine residents and have valid proof of residency.
  • Second Child Discount: A discount is available for families enrolling more than one child. You will receive a fee reduction of $10 per week for the second child and any subsequent children . All children must be members of the same household. Please inform membership room staff member at the time of camp registration if this discount applies to your family.
  • Extended Care Program: Extended Care is available for all participants who would like to enroll in this separate program. Extended Care consists of seated, quiet activities, before camp begins and after camp is over. Extended Care has a separate enrollment and a separate fee. Program enrollment and fees must be completed and paid in full before the child may attend the Extended Care Program.

Enjoy summer's favorite fun activities like baseball, sundaes on a hot day, outdoor music & more. We will take a field trip to a Cincinnati Reds game.
It's a Small World
Around the world in five days! We will explore the games, crafts and foods of other cultures. At the end of the week, take a field trip for a Mexican fiesta.
Have Fun with Fitness!
Learn the basics of many sports, participate in fitness and nutrition activities, and take a field trip to a Cincinnati Reds game at the end of the week!
Spanish Week
Uno, dos, tres… how high can you count? Join camp this week to learn the basics of Spanish! Practice your Spanish speaking skills at a local restaurant Fiesta at the end of the week!

Clown around with puppets, skits, karaoke, and more! See other stars in action with a field trip to The Greene for a movie.
Color my World
Come have fun with art! There is more to art than just paint; tie dye, cartooning and more. This week we will visit the Dayton Art Institute.
Drama Camp!
Participate in Drama Camp! Learn basic acting techniques and star in a performance at the end of the week. See other stars in action with a field trip to The Greene for a movie.
Young Artists Week
Come have fun with art! Learn new art techniques, complete painting and sculpting projects. At the end for the week, we will go to the Dayton Art Institute for a tour of the museum.

Learn the basics of Spanish! Participate in fun Spanish themed activities. Practice your Spanish speaking skills with a trip to a local restaurant for a Spanish Fiesta at the end of the week!
Young Government
Create your own country and government while learning about government and cultures of the world. At the end of the week this camp will be going to the State House in Columbus.

What goes up??? Rockets...Kites...Planes… We will launch our own and go see the big flyers at the Air Force Museum.

In collaboration with the MVCC and City of Moraine staffer Aaron Vietor, youth will learn to produce and film TV. After the production is complete, relax on your field trip to Kettering Pool.
Local Heroes Week
This week highlights all the heroes that are around you. Activities will feature the Police and Fire Divisions and Military Service people. Also, we will see past heroes on a field trip to the Air Force Museum.

FAQ's

  • Is lunch provided?
    • Lunch is provided daily, except field trip days. All campers will eat lunch at the Summer Lunch Program Site, sponsored by the City of Moraine and Ohio Department of Education, located at Wax Park.
  • What does my child need to bring to camp?
    • Please send sunscreen and water bottle EACH DAY. Campers will be outside a minimum of 50% of the day (weather permitting). Please dress weather and activity appropriate. No flip flops please. Remember, it is easy to get dirty at camp.
  • What is the Staff-to-Camper ratio?
    • At a minimum, we have 1 staff member for 10 campers.
  • Where does camp meet?
    • Campers will be dropped off and picked up for Camp and Extended Care at the Gerhardt Civic Center, inside the building, in the Youth Classroom.
  • Does my child need to be signed in & out of the program?
    • Yes. An approved parent or guardian must sign children in and out each day. On your enrollment packet you will be asked to list 3 people who may sign out your child. Staff will check parent ID’s at pick up, so please have your ID for faster pickup.
  • Are you a registered day camp?
    • Yes, we voluntarily register with the Ohio Department of Family Services. Please reference your parent manual for more information on this registration.
